1. Jakes Joint

A Dallas / Ft.Worth hit for over 20 years, Jake's menu offers classic burgers at even more classic prices. Burgers come with double meat patties, and a choice of fries or tater tots. Voted Best of Citysearch in 2008.

2. Wild About Harry's

Since 1996, Harry has been inviting Dallas families to be a part of his own family tradition of frozen custard and hot dogs. The Konx Street location has been a gathering place for all generations to enjoy good food and fun. Their custard is served in over 50 flavors and they make 10 different hot dogs, each able to be customized. Everyone is wild about Wild About Harry's.

3. All Good Cafe

The crust on Granny's chicken-fried steak was so thick, it looked like the meat was coated with cornflakes. Loud, bustling, and a bit crazy at times, the All Good Cafe has the best grilled chicken nachos, chicken-friend chinger fingers, and savory meatloaf this side of the Pecos High Bridge.

4. Angry Dog

This popular spot looks and feels like a pub. The chicken wings are legendary; the "extra hot" version is nothing to take lightly. The Angry Dog comes sliced down the middle on a bun and smothered in chili sauce, to be eaten with a fork. Other favorites include the Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich, Mom's Grilled Cheese, The Fried Chicken Sub, and the Commerce Street Chili.

5. Blue Mesa Grill

The owners, Jim and Liz Baron, seek out local farms and producers. Their featured enchiladas are made with local chicken (fed on organically grown grains) and goat cheese from Deep Ellum’s Mozzarella Company, all rolled in tortillas from Rudy’s and La Mexicana in Dallas.
